How does it work?

Select the task or team you need and send us an inquiry. Tell us all the important details about the project so we can provide you with a customized quote. We will get back to you within 24 hours. Once we or one of our partners is able to accept the project and you are comfortable with it, we will connect everyone, usually starting with a Zoom or Teams call.

Requirements & Reviews

All required video and audio files must be provided by the client. Review of results and feedback will take place on a platform specified by the client, e.g. Frame.io, Contenthub, PIX or any other solution.

Who am I working with?

Depending on the task, you will work with someone directly from the EditingTools.io team, one of our freelancers with 10+ years of experience, or an entire VFX studio team. We maintain good contacts with a network of professionals with whom we have coordinated workflows.

Payment

Depending on the size of the contract, payment will be split into several parts. If the project is accepted by both parties, a minimum of 10% of the contract value must be paid in advance to EditingTools.io to secure the quote. Further payments can then be made directly to the post-production studio. Prices are quoted in Euros by default, but can be paid in Dollars at the current exchange rate.

VFX Tasks

  • VFX compositing is the process of combining multiple visual elements, such as computer-generated graphics, live-action footage, and special effects, to create a seamless final image. This involves color correction, rotoscoping, tracking, and layering techniques to achieve the desired result. The goal is to make the various elements appear as if they were shot together in the same environment.
  • Retouching usally involve removing blemishes and adding or removing objects. This process can be a time-consuming and complex, but the results can be incredibly impactful.
  • 2.5D animation is a technique to create the illusion of three-dimensional space using two-dimensional images. It involves layering 2D images on top of each other to create the illusion of depth and movement by animating the different layers independently. The result is a scene that appears to have depth and dimension, even though it is created using only 2D elements. 2.5D animation is often used for creating dynamic backgrounds and camera movements for static images. This technique allows animators to create visually striking and immersive scenes without the complexity and cost of full 3D animation.
  • Wire removal can be one kind of vfx retouching and usally covers removing cables from actors or object which are necessary during shooting. This process can be a time-consuming and complex, but the results can be incredibly impactful.
  • VFX matte painting is the process of creating a highly detailed, 2D or 3D painting that is used as a background of a scene. These paintings are created digitally and now often can involve the use of AI tools. This process is used to create expansive landscapes, futuristic cityscapes, or even historical settings. Sometimes its needed to fit reshootings in a scene. The goal is to create a highly realistic, detailed image that blends seamlessly with the live-action footage. VFX matte painting is often used in combination with green screen or blue screen technology to create a convincing environment for actors to perform in.
  • VFX set extension painting is a technique used to digitally extend a physical set or location to create the illusion of a larger, more detailed environment. This is done by adding digital elements to the background of live action footage to create a seamless extension of the physical set. This technique is often used when budget or location constraints limit the size or scope of the set. VFX set extension painting can include 2D or 3D elements such as matte paintings, digital models or particle effects. The goal is to create a convincing environment that blends seamlessly with the live-action footage, enhancing the overall visual experience for the audience.

For this task, it is helpful to provide as much video and images as possible that explain the scene.
  • Replacing the original sky with a digital version that has been created or selected to match the desired look and feel. The replacement sky can include clouds, sunsets, stars, or other atmospheric elements, and can be animated to create dynamic and realistic movements. Similarly, weather replacement involves digitally adding rain, snow, or other weather effects to a scene. These techniques are used to enhance the mood, tone, and visual impact of a shot, and can also be used to correct mistakes or inconsistencies in the original footage.
  • Adding fire, explosions and muzzle flashes into VFX shots. This task includes tracking and color matching.
  • Adding blood spatter and impacts into VFX shots. This task includes tracking and color matching.
  • Creation of high-end animated chat, message and notification graphics for use as overlays in films and series.
  • Keying of green and blue screen ocf files.
  • Tracking and keying of original camera files for the exchange of screen content. Can be combined with Screencontent (Motion Design).
  • Creation of screen content to replace green screen placeholders.
  • 3D environments are 3d virtual spaces used in film production to create realistic and immersive backgrounds and settings. They can be used to replicate real-world locations, create fantasy worlds, or enhance practical sets.
  • Creation of animated screens for large studio LED screens/walls. Also known as LED visuals, LED stages or virtual stage content. LED content can be used as a virtual backdrop or scenery, replacing the need for traditional physical sets in tv studios. This offering refers to pre-rendered background scenes.

Workflows

  • Does your post-production process involve manual adjustments or manual editing of files, or does your software not provide the export format you need? Manual editing is not only time consuming but also error prone. We offer small, fast and customized solutions to automate these steps with an easy-to-use tool. Don't be afraid of unusual formats. Send us your problem files and we'll see what we can do. Solutions that can be programmed with only minor additions to our already public tools, which we try to make free whenever possible so that everyone can benefit.

Do you need a more customized, local & non-public solution to get data from one software to another? We have software developers who work with NLE solutions on daily basis and may be able to write a custom solution for you. Programming of custom scripts and web generators for your non-public production needs begins at $600.

Send us a short message with the scope of the task and, if possible, some demo files so that we can get an overview.
